Guy Godfree Cinematographer

Guy considers story, performance and direction paramount, and aligns his work to those qualities within every project. Guy was recently nominated for a CSC Award for Best Feature Film Cinematography for his work on Jordan Canning’s film SUCK IT UP. Guy was honoured by the Canadian Society of Cinematographers with the 2017 award for Best Theatrical Feature, an award that also garnered him an international nomination for the IMAGO Awards for Best Cinematography in Feature Film for his work on the multiple Canadian Screen Award winning MAUDIE, directed by Aisling Walsh and starring Ethan Hawke and Sally Hawkins. The film premiered at Telluride, TIFF, Berlinale and Dublin International Film Festival. Guy’s feature credits also include GIANT LITTLE ONES with Director Keith Behrman starring Kyle McLachlan and Maria Bello, and THE PARTING GLASS directed by Steven Moyer and starring Anna Paquin, Melissa Leo, Ed Asner and Cynthia Nixon. Guy is a graduate of the prestigious American Film Institute and works in the USA, Canada and abroad. He is based in New York City and Canada.
