Just as quickly as summer always seems to, TIFF16 has already come and gone but it was an incredible festival season for filmmakers, the city and SESLER!

We would like to take one last opportunity to congratulate our DPs Guy Godfree, csc and Kris Belchevski on the premieres of two sensational films they lensed; Maudie and Jean of the Joneses respectively.

Maudie, a biopic of iconic Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis, was helmed by award-winning Irish director Aisling Walsh and features Oscar nominated leads Sally Hawkins, and Ethan Hawke (who was quoted at the premiere’s Q&A as saying “The photography is amazing. I really wish our DP Guy was here!”). Be sure to check out what The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, BBC News, The Film Stage and TheWrap had to say about Maudie in their reviews!

Jean of the Joneses, Stella Meghie’s directorial debut, is a fresh new comedy revolves around a multi-generational group of unforgettable women in the Brooklyn-based Jones family. Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, The LA Times and Toronto Film Scene are among other noteworthy reviews you can read.

We’ve been posted our TIFF adventures through SESLER’s social media channels, but you can look through our complete gallery above to see all our photos and the friends we ran into at the CFC BBQ, Whites Reception as well as other screenings and events!
