Rene Ohashi Cinematographer

Rene is a multi-award winning Director of Photography who has worked on many great feature film and television projects in various budget ranges. His credits include Season 1 of Amazon’s SNEAKY PETE, from Co-Writers and Executive Producers Bryan Cranston and David Shore, the Kiefer and Donald Sutherland Western vehicle FORSAKEN, which garnered him a Canadian Society of Cinematographer Award for Best Feature Film Cinematography, the Focus Features/Miramax psychological thriller THEY, and the adaptation of Mary Downing Hahn’s beloved young adult novel WAIT TILL HELEN COMES.

The scope of Rene’s work ranges from the Warner Bros. action TV series NIKITA, to the Jerry Bruckheimer produced TV drama ELEVENTH HOUR, and the iconic coming of age TV series THE WONDER YEARS. His work on the TV mini-series THE CROSSING secured him an ASC win for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in the Television Movie, Miniseries or Pilot Category.

Throughout his career he has been recognized by numerous organizations and has won an ASC award along with three other ASC nominations, 11 Gemini Award wins of 13 nominations, as well as 12 CSC awards and 15 additional nominations.

Rene is a member of the prestigious American Society of Cinematographers and the Canadian Society of Cinematographers.
